Get Addicted to Work by Playing Job Simulator

It’s 2050 and robots now do all the menial tasks that humans were once forced to endure. Fortunately, you can find out what it was like to “job” back before robots made humans almost superfluous. All you have to do is step into the Job Simulation created by JobBot.

Job Simulation is not only the most fun you will ever have working, but it is also an incredible VR experience. Each job environment has more things to interact with than you have time for during a single simulation.

Job Simulator is being launched for the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. With the use of touch controllers you use a pair of cartoon-like robot hands to interact with the different job environments. Some of the jobs you can sample are:

  • Officer worker
  • Auto mechanic
  • Convenience store clerk
  • Cook

While working, you will also have interactions with bots pretending to be co-workers, bosses, and customers. You may even get robbed by a bot while trying to manage the convenience store. Each different job sis filled with hilarious details that are a little too close to being accurate. While working the office job you may have to squat down to try and connect the cables to an ancient CRT monitor to get it to work.

The number of things you can do is mind-boggling. Just in the office simulation you have the chance to make and throw paper airplanes, use a photocopier, eat donuts, and even photocopy the donuts. It’s impossible not to smile while you are banging on the two key keyboard pretending to be busy while your boss floats by.

Job Simulation makes great use of VR technology. You are fully immersed in the world of the simulation. It is a surprising active game, requiring you to be in constant motion as you try out all of the different items. There is no real objective to the game. The different jobs are mostly there to entertain you. The fun comes in both understanding the satire and in finding new ways to interact with the different environments.

The graphics for this game are intentionally cartoonish. The idea is that you are in a poor simulation of what it meant to “job” as a human decades before. But, the game would probably be even more fun if the graphics felt more real. Most likely, the developer sacrificed the quality of the graphics to allow for a more immersive gameplay experience. It was worth the trade off. Hopefully, future installments will correct this one small oversight.

Worth Your Time and Money

Since you don’t have a robot doing your job for you, you need to know if this game is worth your hard earned dollars. Job Simulation will give you hours of fun. It is perfect for both casual gamers interested in what VR is all about, and for experienced gamers who love a challenge. Just be warned that once you start “jobbing” you may have a hard time stopping. Maybe that’s the robot’s plan.
